New Years Dental Resolutions

  1. Eat starchy foods like chips and crackers in moderation. They can be just as bad for your teeth as sweets.
  2. Never use your teeth to open things.
  3. Always wear a seatbelt. It can save your teeth in an accident.
  4. Floss every day.
  5. Drink unsweet tea. It helps cut down on plaque and cavities.
  6. Replace your toothbrush about every 3 months.
  7. Eat healthy foods like cheese and crunchy vegetables.
  8. Use a fluoride toothpaste.
  9. Don’t smoke. Remember that coffee, tea, colas and soy sauce can also stain your teeth.
  10. Brush after every meal or at least twice a day.
  11. Use a mouthguard if you play contact sports.
  12. Chew a piece of sugarless gum or biting into a carrot or apple, if you can’t brush after every meal.
  13. Use a toothbrush with soft nylon bristles. Toothbrushes with soft bristles clean as well as hard bristles.
  14. See your dentist regularly!
