Until now being the healthy house on Halloween night has been a mark of shame. The American Dental Association is working to turn the healthy house reputation onto its head with the Stop Zombie Mouth initiative.
The Need for a Change
Despite the availability of dental care, the amount of tooth decay is on the rise. Kids are having more cavities filled due to high sugar levels in their diets and inadequate dental hygiene. By encouraging a child to associate fun and sugar, parents are reinforcing unhealthy decisions that can impact kids for a lifetime. A simple solution is to find something that kids enjoy more than sugary candy.
Making Healthy Cool
By teaming up with PopCap Games, the ADA is offering a healthy alternative to candy without the typical stigma attached to healthy treats.
