Same Day Dental Restorations

0

“You need a crown.”

“That tooth is going to need a filling.”

“We need to put a veneer there.”

You are in for either a routine or crisis visit to the dentist, and you hear words that provoke an inward groan: you need dental restoration. But while the work is indeed necessary to rebuild or protect your tooth, you don’t have to groan–because new technology is changing the way restorations are done.

Disadvantages of the Conventional Method

In the past, these restorations would require at least two visits to your dentist. During the first visit the tooth is prepared, often with an unpleasant goop and uncomfortable mold filling your mouth, and a temporary fitting is applied. A few weeks later you return to have the tooth finished. However, in the meantime your fitting could fall out and/or your tooth could become further damaged.

The New Method: Same Day Restorations

Same day dental restorations done with the E4D Dentist System make all of these concerns a thing of the past. Your dentist can now take a laser imaging of your affected tooth with a wand, similar to the technology used to scan the bar codes on your groceries. While you watch, he will virtually fashion a perfect restoration for your tooth on the computer at your chairside. The image is then sent to in-house production and a short time later your permanent restoration is applied.

Benefits of a Same Day Restoration

No metal is used in these restorations, and your dentist can closely match the shade of your tooth enamel, so no one will even be able to tell you have had work done. You don’t have to worry about any interim problems while your restoration is sent out to some off-site lab. Lastly, this new technology protects your time as well as your teeth, getting you in and out in one day.

Visit Your Dentist

With the E4D Dentist System, dental restorations are better than ever. If you need or think you might need a dental restoration, visit your dentist. Only your dentist can determine if a same day restoration is right for you. You just might walk out of the appointment with the smile you desired.
